Please note:

Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PPA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Transport and Planning.

Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.


Surveyor-General Victoria, in-conjunction with the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria (SRBV), is implementing a pilot program to demonstrate a new approach based on a structured training program aimed at significantly reducing the registration time for graduates to become licensed surveyors.

As the Pilot Coordinator, it will be your role to establish the curriculum guidelines and accreditation processes in collaboration with the SRBV and other key stakeholders and then to run the pilot training program with the support of a dedicated project officer


You will also:

  • Contribute to the development of a Knowledge Database and Learning Management System utilising existing training materials held within Land Use Victoria and other industry organisations.
  • Establish structured mentorship programs that connect pilot program participants with surveying industry experts.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to the internal Department of Transport and Planning graduates participating in the pilot program.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Driver's Licence.

Desirable

  • A minimum of eight years' experience working as a licensed surveyor in Victoria is highly desirable.
  • Possess high level knowledge of land surveying practices, Victorian cadastral surveying legislation, land tenure legislation and policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in completely and accurately carrying out cadastral surveys of a complex nature with proven experience in preparing survey documentation to a high standard.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of current and emerging developments in systems and technology related to land surveying and survey infrastructure.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 3 years. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
