About the Role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Sustainability Advisor to play a key role on our QLD Building Business Unit.

Reporting into the General Manager Building QLD/NT, you'll be accountable for providing sustainable outcomes for the projects by identifying and implementing sustainability initiatives and supporting our projects to meet their sustainability obligations.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Provide & take leadership responsibility in site sustainability management.
Coordinate and provide daytoday specialist sustainability support to internal & project stakeholders.
Provide operational sustainability guidance, diligence, consistency, and discipline to business leaders to drive a culture of best practice.
Work to identify & manage environment & sustainability risks.
Liaise with government bodies & professional organizations on sustainability matters.
Establish, monitor and report on key sustainability performance objectives and standards for managing project risks.
Support the development of sustainability knowledge within project personnel in leading practices and driving improvement.
Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to building a risk management culture.
Consult with project team members to identify opportunities for efficiencies and streamlining of sustainability processes and sustainability outcomes, striving to be a leader in the industry.
Monitor system and process audits to ensure compliance with sustainability standards requirements.

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

A Bachelor Degree in Sustainability, Architecture, Engineering, Science, Environmental Engineering or other associated disciplines
Specialist sustainability experience within the construction industry (preferably Buildings) and ideally with a Tier 1 Contractor. Consideration will be given to experienced sustainability consultants looking at transferring their skillset to the delivery of sustainable outcomes on projects.
Understanding of sustainability management techniques and statutory approval processes
Understanding of Federal, State & Local Sustainability statues & legislation
