About the Role:


We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Sustainability Advisor to play a key role on our QLD Building Business Unit.


Reporting into the General Manager Building QLD/NT, you'll be accountable for providing sustainable outcomes for the projects by identifying and implementing sustainability initiatives and supporting our projects to meet their sustainability obligations.


Responsibilities of the role include:


  • Provide & take leadership responsibility in site sustainability management.
  • Coordinate and provide daytoday specialist sustainability support to internal & project stakeholders.
  • Provide operational sustainability guidance, diligence, consistency, and discipline to business leaders to drive a culture of best practice.
  • Work to identify & manage environment & sustainability risks.
  • Liaise with government bodies & professional organizations on sustainability matters.
  • Establish, monitor and report on key sustainability performance objectives and standards for managing project risks.
  • Support the development of sustainability knowledge within project personnel in leading practices and driving improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to building a risk management culture.
  • Consult with project team members to identify opportunities for efficiencies and streamlining of sustainability processes and sustainability outcomes, striving to be a leader in the industry.
  • Monitor system and process audits to ensure compliance with sustainability standards requirements.

To be successful in this key role, you must have:


  • A Bachelor Degree in Sustainability, Architecture, Engineering, Science, Environmental Engineering or other associated disciplines
  • Specialist sustainability experience within the construction industry (preferably Buildings) and ideally with a Tier 1 Contractor. Consideration will be given to experienced sustainability consultants looking at transferring their skillset to the delivery of sustainable outcomes on projects.
  • Understanding of sustainability management techniques and statutory approval processes
  • Understanding of Federal, State & Local Sustainability statues & legislation
