About the Clinical Nursing Education Department:
The Clinical Nursing Education Department provides contemporary evidence-based clinical education programs to meet organisational and strategic goals.

The Graduate Nurse Program team welcomingly supports learners across several graduate programs and provides a high level of support to the wider education team and local nursing staff with educational resources.


About the role:


The Education Coordinator - Graduate Nurse Programs role is a strategic role aligned with the Clinical Nursing Education Department, Nursing Executive, Nursing Workforce Unit, and all clinical divisions across Austin Health.

The Education Coordinator brings together the needs of the organisation and graduate programs, whilst representing nursing professional practice and organisational strategies and initiatives.


This role will require you to:


  • Undertake strategic planning for Graduate Nurse Programs, including recruitment and retention, support of Graduate Nurses, and development, delivery, and evaluation of learning:

Plan, coordinate and evaluate the delivery of the suite of Graduate and Early Career Nurse Programs across Austin Health:


  • Actively participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings, including senior meeting structures of Austin Health and statewide networks representing Austin Health:

Provide visible, clinical leadership through expert teaching, guidance, and support of Graduate Nurses in collaboration with the Clinical Nursing Education Department:


  • Encourage an active learning culture/environment in which competencies of Graduate Nurses are maintained and improved

About you:


You will be someone who demonstrates a high level of clinical leadership and engagement of learners, have significant clinical experience, and be able to work within multiple high functioning teams.

To be successful in this role, you will have:


  • Current Registered Nurse (General) registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA):

Previous experience in a nursing education role at a senior level:


  • Master's degree in education or health related field, or working towards same
