Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Customer Enablement function comprises those teams whose predominant focus is on enabling our customer facing roles in their support of customers.


The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in, line with the Group's risk appetite.


About the role


As an
Operational Risk Manager you are responsible for implementation and management of the risk and compliance framework within Customer Enablement.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Risk and Compliance you will work closely and provide guidance to other members of the 1st Line of Defence (1LOD) Risk team, Centres of Expertise, Group Regulatory Compliance and Group Operational Risk to enhance the development of a strong risk and compliance culture.


In this opportunity you'll get to:

  • Perform all activities in line with the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF)
  • Promote a strong risk culture through education and support and as integral part of the Risk team; and
  • Establish and build relationships with key business units across the Bank

This opportunity will be located at one of our corporate offices in Melbourne, Adelaide, Bendigo, Sydney or Brisbane and we offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement with an expectation you are in the office two days per week.

About you

To be successful you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in either Banking, Finance, Accounting or Risk Management
  • Demonstrated Operational Risk experience in Banking and Financial Services Industry, preferably in a role in the 1st Line of Defence (1LOD),
  • Understanding and practical working knowledge of Operational Risk Management Frameworks with experience across retail banking segments desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to support, advise and influence a range of stakeholders to drive desired outcomes.
