The Role

Joint Systems Division (JSD) within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is seeking an experienced Security Officer to fulfil the position of EL1 Principal Security Adviser for JSD.

The Principal Security Adviser is responsible to the Director of Strategy for JSD and is the primary official to advise the First Assistant Secretary, Branch Heads and Branch security personnel on all matters pertaining to the security of the Division.

You will have oversight of all security governance for JSD and be responsible for designing, developing and executing policy for security, as well as assisting security personnel within the Branches to fulfil their responsibilities.

In addition to the above stated responsibilities, you will also provide:

Ongoing assistance to Branch security personnel relating to domestic and international security management, and Defence industry guidance and assurance programs.
Advice relating to classified and/or sensitive programs and technology.
Assistance to manage special arrangements with other agencies as the divisional Communications Intelligence Security Officer (COMSO) and Special Security Officer (SSO).
Assurance, including audits and independent investigations, of JSD security matters.
Development of specific security related training and mentoring programs for all JSD staff.
Oversight of JSD security clearances and clearance requirements.
Maintenance of appropriate accreditation for JSD secure facilities.
