Job description:

Roussos is recruiting for a national well-established Tier 1 organisation seeking an experienced Project focused Safety Officer.

This organisation is recognised for their expertise in the delivery of iconic buildings across Australia in commercial, health defence, education, and government sectors.

An established builder with over 500 employees, they focus on cultivating a supportive but challenging working environment; offering flexible working arrangements and clear career development pathways within a national network.

As the Project Safety Office you will solely be focused on key projects across South Australia within the commercial sector.

The role
You will be supporting site personnel and ultimately be responsible for fostering a culture of safety.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

Implementing safety management procedures
Uphold an awareness of WHS legislation, guidelines, and risk management in relation to the building industry
Ensure company policies and procedures are maintained to reflect legislative requirements
Conduct site inspections and audits
Coordinate incident investigations and required reporting
Provide safety education and training
Assist in development of hazard and risk identification processes and controls

To be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate IV in WHS and previous experience in a similar role.

Your strong interpersonal skills, combined with a dedication to company ethics and values will assist you in developing key relationships with subcontractors, team members, clients, and stakeholders.

You will have extensive knowledge of the current legislation and risk management processes, in addition to an understanding of quality, health, and safety management systems.
