Design & Build are currently working with a leading civil contractor who specialise in providing essential services and major infrastructure to identify a Supervisor to manage the asphalting and civil scope of works.

Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise Asphalt Works
- Supervisor civil components such as pavement rehab, kerb and channel, stormwater drainage and associated works
- Liaise and communicate closely with VicRoads to ensure standards and specs are met
- Ensure HS&E specs are strongly followed and adhered to
- Manage site meetings and toolbox talks
- Quality Checks and reporting
Competencies & Skills:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in road construction and management
- Demonstrated ability to manage construction works, plan and program delivery,
- Demonstrated understanding of pavement types, standard surfacing, and asphalting practices
- Experience in managing subcontractors
- Sound understanding of traffic setup and compliance
- Experience in VicRoads construction contracts (preferred)
- Onsite quality checks and reporting
- Understanding of Victorian health safety and environmental requirements
- Experience in managing safety, environment and quality outcomes in a road network environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading safety in a large infrastructure project
- Demonstrated experience in high level report writing and computer skills
- Be able to work with the wider management/leadership team to ensure the overarching contract objectives are achieved.
- Demonstrated commitment to HS&E through behaviours, visible and accountable leadership and participation in monitoring of established working practices
- Demonstrated understanding of contractual KPI's
- Ability to develop key understanding of client requirements and contractual obligations and the ability to further demonstrate those understandings by way of site meetings, client interactions and feedback sessions
- Ability to develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and drive continuous improvement.
- Conflict management, influencing and people management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding interpersonal, relationship building and problemsolving skills
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture both internal and external
- Able to establish a reputable business by maintaining good working relationships with clients, subcontractors and third parties
