ABOUT THE ROLE

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Competition Strategy and Planning: Supporting the strategic planning for the delivery of a NST of football in Australia with the focus on facilitating mid to longterm growth for Senior Women and Men's football, improved opportunities for Australia's aspiring footballers, coaches, referees, administrators, medical staff and media and delivering competitions that will optimise the media and commercial value of Football Australia's competitions portfolio
  • Competition Development: Lead the strategy, club assessment criteria, and launch of the NST and ensure its ongoing viability
  • Marketing/Promotion/

Match Scheduling:
Ensure the scheduling of the NST aligns with FA's Domestic Match Calendar year on year to optimise the fan experience, broadcast opportunities, football development and commercial outcomes for this tier of football

  • Broadcast and Commercial: Act as key Competitions contact for broadcast and commercial partners across programming, production, and match day delivery for the NST
  • Leadership: Manage senior stakeholders across the football ecosystem with the Australian Professional Leagues, A-Leagues Clubs, NST Applicants/Clubs, Member Federations, Broadcast partners, AFC and NPL Clubs
  • Financial: Manage NST operation within approved annual budget including regular reporting on the competitions progress to budget

ABOUT YOU

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:


  • At least 7 years of industry experience in competitions, sport administration, project management or similar field
  • University degree required, with degree in sport management, business/ administration or sportrelated field preferred
  • Excellent Leadership skills
  • Excellent management skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Understanding of contemporary initiatives for competition enhancement
  • Well organised and ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Diplomacy and strong customer service approach
  • Understanding of core principles of Football Development
  • Strong IT knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Awareness and alignment to the FA XI Principles

Additional Requirements:


  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Working with children check (paid/ employee) or state
- based equivalent

  • Out of hours and weekend work as required
