Exciting opportunity to join the second largest municipality in Melbourne's metropolitan west. Located about 20 kms from the central business district, Brimbank City Council is culturally diverse.


We are currently seeking a FULL TIME PERMANENT staff member to join our team based at our offices in SUNSHINE.


The role:


Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, we are seeking an experienced Information Management specialist who can bring their skills and experience in uplifting Brimbank's Information Management function across all areas of the organisation.

This is an enormous and exciting opportunity for someone with a strategic mindset that can aid in creating and implementing a vision and take both the team and the organisation through the uplift journey.

Key Responsibilities;


Legislation and Compliance
Managing end to end life cycle of information (digital and hardcopy) whilst complying with Public Records Office Victoria (PROV), Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) standards and other relevant legislation;
Managing archiving requirements across Council. Coordinating the storage and retrieval of physical and electronic records in accordance with relevant legislation;
Managing audits of information and records management and implementing continuous improvement from resulting actions. Reporting on effectiveness of records management;
Oversee the preparation and destruction of corporate records in accordance with PROV Retention and Disposal Authorities and Standards.


Service Delivery
Promoting effective information and records management across Council. Develop and deliver staff training through various platforms and channels;
Review, develop and implement corporate record keeping practices, procedures and policies;
Plan, lead and implement key change initiatives to uplift Information Management Service Delivery;
Responsible for the system administration of Council's Electronic Document Management System. Lead system enhancement and changes in collaboration with ICT Application Support.


Leadership and Strategy
Lead the development and implementation of Information Management Strategy and Roadmap;
Lead a team of six staff to deliver IM Services and ensure team annual plans are aligned IM Strategy Objectives;

Lead budget submissions and manage allocated budget in a timely and transparent manner, ensuring all programs and projects are managed cost effectively.
