Our Journey
Monash Health is excited to announce the new position of
Workforce Wellbeing Lead.

As a key member of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Leadership Team, the Workforce Wellbeing Lead will work to develop and implement our vision for wellbeing and psychological safety across the health service.

This includes leading a Workforce Wellbeing Steerco with key stakeholders, to provide oversight and direction for the employee mental health and wellbeing program.


A Day in the Life


The Workforce Wellbeing Lead is a professional with a passion for workplace mental health and wellbeing, a member of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, and reports to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Director.

You lead the Workforce Wellbeing Strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders and play a vital role in developing and delivering wellness programs and psychological safety initiatives.


You will also:

  • Develop and lead a Workforce Wellbeing Steering committee with representation from key stakeholder groups, to develop and implement a Workforce Wellbeing strategy which upskills employees in wellness and thriving at work and promotes a mentally healthy and psychologically safe work environment.
  • Develop and implement an evidenced based Wellbeing Strategy and organisational framework to support optimal psychological wellbeing and thriving.
  • Monitor effective delivery of the Employee Assistance Program, liaising with stakeholders and the Service Provider
  • Oversee training and education sessions on mental health and wellbeing topics for employees and managers.
  • Keep updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging research in health and wellbeing to continuously improve.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellbeing programs and track progress towards identified health and wellbeing goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and promote wellness events, campaigns, and resources.

About You
Communication skills and teamwork are extremely important in this role as you will be working in a diverse team. You are an experienced leader with experience in implementing a Workforce Wellbeing strategic plan which has delivered demonstrated improvements.

You thrive working in a dynamic environment and demonstrate a flexible, can-do attitude and strong organisational, communication and time management skills.

With strong written and verbal communication skills, you are able to demonstrate the ability to produce quality proposals, discussion papers and reports.


You also possess the following experience:

  • You have been leading an organisational approach to employee wellbeing and psychological safety.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing a strategic approach to mental health and wellbeing programs.
  • You lead by example, thrive working in a fastpaced environment and are truly passionate about developing and delivering a strategy to improve wellbeing across the organisation. You have excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship building attributes.
  • You are ready to be part of a truly dynamic Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team at Monash Health. You are also an advocate of Monash Health's Strategic Guiding Principles.

What you need:


  • Workplace Health and Wellbeing or related experience
  • Tertiary qualifications Psychology, Health Promotion, Psychological safety and mental health, Health Education, Public Health or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing, implementing and overseeing a strategic approach to health and wellbeing programs.
  • Strong knowledge of evidencebased Mental Health and wellness strategies, tools, and incentives.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and program development skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Passion for promoting a mentally healthy workplace, health and wellbeing, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of employees.
  • Current driver's license
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and work with senior leaders and all staff at a strategic and operational level.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change initiatives across multiple sites and multiple disciplines.
  • Welldeveloped computer literacy
