As part of this transformative journey, Novartis has recently introduced the newly created role of State Government Affairs & Partnership Manager.

As a key member of our Public Affairs team, you will be responsible for:

  • Engage with state government, state-based institutions, private sector organisations, and think tanks to unlock patient access to medicines.
  • Your mission will be to establish and maintain trusted relationships with key state government stakeholders, including politicians, advisors, and departmental officials. By leading partnerships that enhance Novartis' reputation and improve patient health outcomes, you will play a vital role in shaping the healthcare landscape.
  • You will have the opportunity to deliver new partnerships and funding agreements with state governments, accelerating access to lifechanging Novartis medicines.
  • As the key point of contact for Novartis within your designated state, you will lead environment shaping activities and initiatives with government stakeholders, universities, and the private sector. Your efforts will remove barriers to accessing Novartis medicines, ensuring that patients receive the care they need.

Role Requirements

  • Government Experience: You have demonstrated experience working within state or federal government, either as a political advisor or a member of a relevant government department. Your understanding of government processes and systems will be invaluable in navigating the complexities of the public sector.
  • Navigating State Government Ecosystems: You have a proven track record of successfully navigating state government ecosystems, with a specific focus on health or innovation. Your ability to drive outcomes within the government landscape will be crucial in unlocking growth opportunities.
  • Partnership Building: You have a demonstrated ability to build partnerships across the state ecosystem to address complex regulatory, policy, or access priorities. Your expertise in forging strategic alliances will be essential in finding innovative solutions to healthcare challenges.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: You have a strong background in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across various sectors, including government, universities, and the private sector. Your ability to engage with highprofile stakeholders will be instrumental in driving collaboration and achieving impactful outcomes.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: You possess exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated record of making a significant impact. Your ability to effectively convey complex information and influence stakeholders will be critical in shaping the future of healthcare.
