Purpose of Role:
Weir Minerals is looking for a Fettler to perform effective preparations of our castings.

As a Fettler you will be responsible for grinding, smoothing, and polishing metal surfaces to ensure they meet our quality standards.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the final product is of the highest quality.


Key Responsibilities:

Safety First:

Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.


  • Preparation of castings for next stage of manufacturing process whilst meeting Aftercast production output
  • Operation of equipment including overhead cranes
  • Ensuring that all equipment is fit for purpose and operating correctly
  • Participation in toolbox talks
  • Flexibility in operating in other areas of the Foundry if required by management
  • Ensuring safe work practices through reading, working within and signing off on SOP's, and notifying a supervisor if there is any concerns

Job Knowledge:

  • Prior experience in fettling and/or operation of grinding and impact equipment with a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
  • Prior experience in operation of overhead or KBK cranes with an understanding of slinging loads.
  • Constant carrying up to 9kgs.
