Day Shift 5AM to 1PM

Purpose of Role:
Weir Minerals is looking for a Fettler to perform effective preparations of our castings.

As a Fettler you will be responsible for grinding, smoothing, and polishing metal surfaces to ensure they meet our quality standards.

This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the final product is of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety First:

Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Preparation of castings for next stage of manufacturing process whilst meeting Aftercast production output
Operation of equipment including overhead cranes
Ensuring that all equipment is fit for purpose and operating correctly
Participation in toolbox talks
Flexibility in operating in other areas of the Foundry if required by management
Ensuring safe work practices through reading, working within and signing off on SOP's, and notifying a supervisor if there is any concerns

Job Knowledge:

Prior experience in fettling and/or operation of grinding and impact equipment with a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
Prior experience in operation of overhead or KBK cranes with an understanding of slinging loads.
Constant carrying up to 9kgs.
