Your new role
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Strategic Planner to join our City Strategy and Planning team


You will participate in the development of land use planning and development strategies, policies and projects which help shape the future growth and development of the municipality.


Your responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing and assisting with planning studies, projects and planning scheme amendments to ensure Council's strategic planning policies and controls integrate economic, social and environmental considerations.

You will also provide high quality service and expert planning advice to Council staff and other external and internal customers.

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $ $ depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.


What you will need to thrive

The key selection criteria for this role are:

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Victorian planning system and related legislation.
  • Demonstrated analytical, research and report writing skills in relation to city strategy and land use planning.
  • Demonstrated understanding of planning schemes and amendment processes.
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with a wide range of people, to determine stakeholder issues and explain planning issues and concepts.
  • A degree/diploma in Urban Planning or equivalent, and eligibility for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
