About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Production Manager to join our historic flour mill located in North Melbourne.

This role will report to the Site Leader and be a key member of the site leadership team. The delivery of results will be your primary responsibility and you will be constantly looking for improvement activities. We are searching for a passionate people leader who can drive engagement as well as navigate effectively through change.

As we enter an exciting period of growth, this role will then transition into our newly built, state of the art facility located at Ballarat.

Our brand-new Ballarat site will be a fully automated facility and with these technological advancements, we are seeking a leader with a passion for digitisation and automation.

The primary purpose of the Production Manager position is to lead all activities associated with the timely and safe manufacture of production including:

  • A "hands-on" approach to Management and Coordination of Production and customers
  • Ensuring production and products are made within specification in a safe, efficient manner utilising optimal levels of human resource, materials, and equipment.
  • Champion all health and safety requirements, directions and legislation and work in accordance with the company quality systems and other appropriate food safety and quality measures
  • Form a partnership with production planning to achieve maximum plant utilisation including making recommendations and where necessary changing the production plan in line with customer and company requirements.
  • Using lean manufacturing principles, actively focus on plant operation to meet or exceed line efficiency and performance targets.
  • Maintain or improve financial performance against budgeted controllable costs.
  • Interpret data from process to monitor and adjust plant operation to meet production requirements and track performance KPI's
About You

  • A minimum of 5 years Production Manager experience in a flour mill & high volume FMCG business
  • Demonstrated experience in people management and passion to drive engagement
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decisionmaking skills
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles
  • Preferably experience in plant automation, driving results through analytics and CI
  • Understanding of Food safety processes, with experience in BRC
  • SAP knowledge for process confirmation and stocktake completion
