Aquatics Programs Supervisor, Sydney Olympic Park Authority:


  • Ongoing Full Time Opportunity, located at the iconic Aquatic Centre Sydney Olympic Park:

Centres and Venues Level 4 Salary, $69,239 plus super & 5 weeks of Annual Leave per year


Sydney Olympic Park Authority are responsible for the day-to-day management of all public places, 430 hectares of parklands and 7 sporting venues.

This includes the management of buildings, facilities and landscape assets, delivery of programs and events, enhancing your experience, provision of sports and leisure facilities, conservation of water, energy and resources, protection of ecosystems, environment and heritage as well as the coordination of the precinct on a daily basis.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional Aquatic Programs Supervisor to join our friendly Sports Venues Team.

This role is integral in coordinating and supervising the Aquatics Programs team, to deliver all related aquatic program activities and outcomes that will maximise customer retention, optimise facility usage and support positive customer experiences.


What you'll be doing

  • Actively participate in developing, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the Aquatic Programs run efficiently and meets customer's needs.
  • Prepare bookings and process customer enquiries with accurate enrolment information for Aquatic Programs.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer feedback to continually improve processes and service delivery and ensure information and notifications regarding Aquatic Programs are circulated to all participants within required timeframes.
  • Provide team leadership and supervise the performance of direct reports by setting work objectives, assessing performance and providing feedback, development and coaching to develop staff capabilities and meet work objectives.
  • Provide recommendations for the annual work area budget, maintain and record program targets and monitor revenue and expenditure to ensure operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Research and report on competitor and industry trends, developments, pricing, programs and services.
  • Assist in the development of marketing initiatives for Aquatic Programs that will maximise enrolments, optimise usage of the facility, support revenue initiatives and contribute to the highlevel business objectives.

About You
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to plan, develop and coordinate a wide range of aquatic programs.
  • Outstanding communication skills which support and foster customer service of the highest standard. Ability to resolve/manage conflict resolution effectively.
  • Experience in staff management including leadership, staff training and rostering.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing budgets, management of a business unit, program analysis and marketing skills to attract and retain customers.
  • Experience in using Bookings/Point of Sale software and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge and commitment to the principles of Workplace Health Safety.
All pre-requisite qualifications must be maintained by the incumbent on an ongoing basis.


Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or sound experience in recreation or allied disciplines and aquatic programming and development.
  • Current Austswim and CPR Certificate.
  • All prerequisite qualifications must be maintained by the incumbent on an ongoing basis.
  • A Working with Children Check is an essential requirement for this role. The role has been identified as requiring a check in keeping with the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012.
