Pace Appointments Vic have partnered with a leading Sea Freight provider.

Together, we are looking for a customer centric, mature-minded Sea Freight Operations Manager to join their team in Melbourne's North West.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will lead and mentor a team of freight forwarding professionals. Day to day you will encourage and develop the team, ensuring you lead from the front. You will have an unparalleled customer focus, thriving on your integrity.

As an experienced Operations Manager you:

Ensure operations department runs as a cost effective unit
Calculate overseas profit splits
Manage and appraise staff
Review sea export SLI's received
Inspect all dangerous goods documentation and cargo (where applicable)
Analyse reports and figures with Branch Manager (when required)
Enter overseas costing into the operational system
Documenting Document Change Requests
Assess investigate and prevent nonconformances
Recording internal and external complaints on QIR's
Responsibility for completing a Skills Inventory and to ensure that all training received is recorded on personal Training Inventory
Conduct Audits and Quality Assurance in a time effective manner
The responsibility for documenting all changes resulting from management reviews, the approval of changes to documents and the subsequent reissue once these changes have been incorporated

What You Need
Along with your personal attribute of being a personable, driven and versatile leader you will need to bring:

Experience in a similar role, within Freight Forwarding
Demonstrated experience leading a diverse team
Excellent communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills
High attention to detail
