As a Product Owner in the Compass Product team, you will be working with a talented development team and be responsible for executing our product vision and roadmap and building solutions that our schools, parents, teachers, and students love.

Responsibilities and duties

Product Development

  • Through a close relationship with the General Manager of Delivery you will have a deep understanding of the product roadmap, including the customer problems and business benefits for opportunities which you will break down into actionable user stories for the development team.
  • As the voice of the customer, you work closely with the product development team to determine sprint goals and prioritise customer value for development & launch, whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • You'll work closely with Customers, Product Design, and various teams across Compass to ensure the solution meets the needs of our customers and delivers the expected benefits to the business.
  • Your commitment to the development team ensures that you're actively engaged during their sprints to review and discuss user stories and answer questions that might arise. Attending all team meetings, showcases, and standups is one of your most important priorities.

Product Lifecycle

  • You'll work closely with other Product Owners and the Product Manager to help define the product roadmap
  • You will own and manage the prioritisation of bugs, customer issues, and requests to ensure the right resolution or outcome by the product team at the right time.
  • You will build a close relationship with the Customer Support Team and through your indepth product knowledge, enable them to provide amazing support to their customers in relation to the product areas and features that you look after.
  • You'll engage directly with the customer and seek valuable insights that help you and the Product Manager to understand their problems and product opportunities, negotiate delivery timeframes, validate concepts, and test new product experiences

Product Launch

  • You'll work with the release management team to coordinate launch activities, including issue mitigation and go / no go pathways that are defined to ensure that any product changes are delivered seamlessly to customers
  • You'll ensure launch readiness by working with key teams across the business such as Customer Support, Sales, and Marketing.
  • You'll develop detailed feature documentation and work with the Product Manager to build wholesale product marketing material that enables our marketing teams to create customerfacing content to engage schools and optimise the success of your product.

Requirements:


What you'll bring with you

  • Work experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management
  • Exceptional communication skills, and an ability to adapt communication approaches dependent on your audience, ranging from external stakeholders to internal technical team members
  • Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and building strong professional relationships
  • Experience working within a SaaS environment
  • Handson experience with Agile processes and principles
  • A relentless customercentric value drive
  • Adaptive to changing circumstances
