Purpose
Climate change is one of society's most pressing challenges with significant regulatory, risk, reputation, and customer implications.


Given the investment required to respond to climate risks, there is opportunity for NAB to play a key role in helping our customers and communities to transition to a low carbon economy and build resilience to climate risks.


Our ambition is to be a catalyst in Australia's climate transition, and a new Enterprise Climate Team is being mobilised to deliver this ambition.


Your opportunity


As the Consultant, Climate you'll work with the Climate team and key stakeholders, providing support to help develop climate initiatives, including robust analysis, prepare high quality and compelling presentations, and communicate recommendations across the Bank to influence and support the delivery of Climate initiatives related to strategy and commercialisation, climate related investment, innovation & partnership, climate governance, commitments & advocacy and climate data foundations.


About the role

  • Lead the analysis and thinking to develop insights that drive strategic recommendations across key Climate initiatives and priorities
  • Help synthesising findings and developing compelling, structured business presentations that clearly articulate recommendations
  • Engage with key stakeholders to scope, develop and deliver key insights and strategic recommendations
  • Help guide junior team members on analysis and communication materials development

Skills/Knowledge and Capabilities

  • 24 years supporting/leading development of and/or implementation of strategic initiatives in consulting or large corporate (or other relevant experience) preferably in banking and financial services.
  • Ability to understand banking and climate science and risk, associated regulation and technology
  • Strategic thinking, structured problem thinking and analysis skills with ability to work across multiple streams of work
  • Commercial business experience, including in merger and acquisitions and/or funds management/venture capital beneficial
  • Microsoft Excel modelling and advanced ability to create compelling and structured business presentation
  • Ability to engage wide range of stakeholders, synthesise and communicate key information to nontechnical stakeholders
  • Passion for impact/change and continuous improvement for both customers and colleagues
  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelors/MBA, Climate Change/Sustainability or equivalent)
