About the Organisation

Townsville City Council is the largest local government authority in Northern Australia.

It provides and maintains over $5.4b worth of community assets including water and wastewater network and treatment, bridges, drainage, roads, waste management, community facilities and sporting venues amongst others.

The Enterprise Change Manager will lead the design and implementation of successful organisational change programs.

You will work across all service delivery sections of the organisation and provide support and coaching to the Senior Leadership Team to embed contemporary change management methodologies and practices in their teams, as well as directly supporting project teams during the transition periods.

About the Role

Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer you will lead change management activities across the organisation,


Through the design and implementation of contemporary change management models, you will integrate activities into projects, measure success metrics and monitor change progress enabling you to support training efforts specifically on change management providing input and supporting the design and delivery of training programs.


Additionally, with strategic and policy acuity, you will coach, influence and shape attitudes and behaviours to enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications to support organisational change with a view to embedding a Change Management Culture and Systems.

About the Person


To be considered, you will be professionally qualified with significant experience implementing change methodologies and a track record of success leading and coaching change in a large cross-functional organisation.


You will have experience in the design and implementation of contemporary change management models, methodologies and plans for projects and a solid understanding of leading people through a change and the change process.


With exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, you will have demonstrated experience in embedding a change management culture and systems combined with deep skills in the areas of consultation, advocacy, negotiation and influencing to resolve issues and meet changing organisational needs.
