Manager Corporate Operations

  • Salary: $130,673 - $174,869 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Ongoing role
  • Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Melbourne CBD (hybrid work options available)

The Role

The Manager Corporate Operations will lead a team managing corporate services for the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA). This includes overseeing VFA accommodation and fleet, managing business assets, handling procurement processes and supplier contracts, and ensuring governance, financial management, and administration.

The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and collaborates closely with other executives to drive corporate initiatives and business improvements for the VFA.

The Manager Corporate Operations will establish strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Team

The VFA is tasked with managing Victoria's fisheries resources effectively to ensure their sustainability. It operates to enable the Government, recreational and commercial fishing sectors, and the community to benefit from sustainable fisheries management.

The VFA employs approximately 190 staff across Melbourne CBD, metropolitan Melbourne, and regional Victoria.

  • Comprehensive grasp of corporate operations
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proven track record in leading, planning, and executing projects and initiatives
  • Experience in managing complex procurements and knowledge of purchasing practices
  • Understanding of governance principles, financial management, and corporate compliance
