Phillip Riley is proud to be partnering with an Australian owned renewable energy company with a clear mandate to identify investment opportunities within the renewable energy and storage sector, drive down energy prices and support a next generation workforce to achieve climate change goals.


In order to achieve their strategic objectives, our client is looking to create a dynamic leadership team which will include hiring a General Manager, Energy Retail with a particular emphasis on large energy users and C&I customers.

As a key member of the leadership team, your ethos will help to shape the organisational culture.


The role:


As the General Manager, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the customer offering for mainly large energy users across the NEM.

In this role you will have the opportunity to establish and lead a high performing team to deliver great customer experiences from the outset.


Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of customer sales & service strategy, systems and processes that deliver great customer experiences and commercial returns
  • Negotiate and agree electricity sales contracts with government, commercial and industrial customers in line with approved strategies
  • Build and maintain a highly efficient energy retail front and back office operations, including Billing & Collections whilst managing large customer accounts with great customer service.

Required experience:


To succeed within this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in sernior customer facing roles in energy retail companies
  • Detailed understanding of the needs of large scale electricity usage government entities and commercial and industrial customers
  • Strong understanding of AEMO and distribution network customer transfer, metering and billing processes and their implications
  • Advanced business and commercial acumen and the ability to manage key internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience in building and highperforming teams in commercial settings.
