The role


Saab Australia is in an exciting time of growth and is establishing a business improvement team to lead improvement projects across the business to deliver measurable efficiency gains.

The Business Improvement Specialist will work closely with the Business Improvement Manager to build and establish this new function and lead delivery of business improvement projects.


  • Lead successful hands on execution of Business Improvement projects across business, leveraging appropriate tools and methodologies
  • Coordinate regular Business Improvement governance and reporting
  • Support the identification, analysis and prioritisation of business improvement opportunities across Saab Australia
  • Support and foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational readiness and change adoption across the business
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role._
About you

  • Your skills and experience will include:_
  • Proven experience in successfully managing complex business improvement initiatives across a range of streams within complex multidisciplined environments
  • Proven experience in implementing established BI methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, Kaizen, BeX, Operational Excellence
  • Tertiary qualifications in a project management or business discipline.
  • Proven experience in implementing business improvement frameworks across complex organisations or defence industry projects
  • Proven business improvement, project management and change management skills and experience
  • Strong communicator with ability to relate to people from different disciplines and levels of the organisation


A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
