The Opportunity


The Wedgetail Change (Portfolio) Manager is responsible the execution of all facets of the portfolio of change activities for the E-7A capability.

This includes executing contracts necessary to meet or exceed customer product and service requirements within agreed budgets and in accordance with Boeing policies, processes and procedures.

This position also manages growth and development of new business for the program. This role can be based in Williamtown or Brisbane.


This role has extensive customer interactions and international interactions/negotiations in order to support the establishment and management of all individual projects in the portfolio.


The Wedgetail Change Manager reports to the Wedgetail Program Director, and is a key member of the Wedgetail Leadership Team.


Responsibilities

  • Manages employees and midlevel managers performing business management activities in the areas of project management.
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.
  • Develops and uses collaborative relationships within and outside the organization to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
  • Builds rapport and trust among stakeholders and leverages the organization's dynamics to promote program goals by focusing on a shared vision.
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and midlevel managers.
  • Reviews and incorporates program metrics and control systems to monitor and manage each element of the constraints.
  • Authorises workaround plans and schedules recovery plans, alternative options or scenarios, resource capacity plans, risk mitigation plans to balance the program portfolio as required.
  • Develops and delivers status reports to senior executives, for both Boeing and the customer.

Experience/Qualification

  • Strong experience as a senior program manager, ideally for technically complex acquisition projects with tight delivery timeframes
  • Knowledge of organizational development dynamics/principles (e.g., mitigate resistance to change, whole systems thinking and design, organization design and effectiveness).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the methodology and processes associated with risk management (including Technology Readiness Assessments), opportunity management, and issues management.
  • A proven ability to develop positive, effective stakeholder relationships in a highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to support, lead, and delegate the project team's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle.
