The Opportunity


Council is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are seeking an opportunity to work within the Community Safety Department of Melton City Council.


These positions will report to the Pound Services Team Leader and assist in the day to day operation of our pound facility in accordance with relevant legislation and codes of practice in conjunction with Council's policies and procedures.

The successful applicants will be responsible to carry out all duties associated with our pound facility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, advice and assistance to residents, ratepayers and visitors in relation to animal matters.
  • Conduct prompt appropriate responses in relation to customer enquiries.
  • Accurately record information onto Council's systems on a daily basis.
  • Report on all equipment, signage and other infrastructure that requires attention or does not comply with safety standards or legislation.

About you

_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_

  • Respond to a range of queries/complaints relating to animals.
  • Considerable knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice and legislation relating to Domestic Animals and livestock.
  • Animal handling in accordance with current workplace practices and requirements.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
