Description


As our new Project Risk Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining effective enterprise-wide project assurance models, methods and procedures for use by second line across the RACQ project portfolio, and business led change projects.


You will work collaboratively with stakeholders in first and third line to ensure the finalised artefacts, tools and procedures produce reliable outcomes.

Alongside working collaboratively with portfolio and individual projects to provide assurance over the delivery of planned objectives and quality standards committed to the Board, and report on deviations and exceptions.


As a trusted delegate and second line representative on project steering committees, you will provide operationally independent advice to senior management, obligation owners, assurance over first line project activities and actively engage specialist second line resources where further input is required.


About the role:


  • Promote risk and compliance behaviours and standards across the organisation in keeping the organisation's target risk and compliance maturity.
  • Evaluate and recommend risk architecture design improvements to enable risk and compliance maturity and mature data governance to target state, with a special focus on project assurance.
  • Deliver, monitor and assure mechanisms to improve compliance awareness, good practices, and appropriate attitudes.
  • Advise and assist senior management in the preparation of reporting to relevant regulators of any reportable compliance breaches or nearmisses or regulatory engagements which arise from the project delivery.

About you:


  • Significant experience within a compliance, risk or audit management role acquired in a complex, matrixed organisation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence, positively influencing risk behaviours
  • Highly developed analytical skills, demonstrating the capability to analyse and interpret complex information from a broad range of sources (locally and internationally) and to present findings in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Proven experience developing enterprisewide frameworks to enable sustained compliance with Australian prudential frameworks, regulation, and ISO 37301:2021 Compliance Management Systems.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining systems to administer Australian financial services (AFS) licensee requirements and obligations including product design and distribution obligations; responsible manager coverage; monitoring and supervision frameworks; general compliance; dispute resolution; and conduct and disclosure arrangements.
  • Sound understanding of contemporary Australian corporate governance
