We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner at the Perth CBD office, on a Full-Time Permanent basis.


Reporting to the HR Business Partner Team Leader, the Human Resource Business Partner is a valued and trusted conduit between HR and the business to listen, understand and support the success of our people and our strategic objectives.


About this role


As the Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for engaging and partnering with Western Power's strategic and operational leaders to support programs and initiatives, build proactive and valued business relationships, develop a deep understanding of the business and its objectives and providing professional guidance, advice, coaching and direction to resolve complex people issues.


Assist with the design and delivery of strategic programs and cyclical work in line with Western Power's People Strategy and to support the roll out of corporate initiatives, while consistently operating in line with HR best practice, relevant polices, frameworks, awards, and corporate governance frameworks.


  • Partnering with formal leaders to carry out their workforce management responsibilities.
  • Provide guidance, input and support on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning and uplift in capability.
  • Developing strong relationships with strategic and operational leaders in the organisation to grow leadership and employee capability, plan for the future workforce, develop employee performance, mitigate risk, and support the development and implementation of key people programs.
  • Management of unpredictable, highvolume workload requiring excellent prioritisation skills and effective risk assessment
  • Supporting the resolution of varied and complex employee workplace concerns, including performance issues, grievances, and end to end investigations into misconduct/serious misconduct to modern and best practice standards.
  • Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with HR to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Acts as the key contact for the Western Power leadership team within assigned portfolio.

About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources.
  • Strong generalist experience, with a good grounding in a broad range of HR functional activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide advice to a large operational and professional workforce.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills developed through previous management of complex human relations projects.
  • Developed business acumen working to providing fit for purpose solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent prioritisation skills and effective risk assessment.
  • Advanced influencing capabilities and skills where the interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing and motivating people and changing behaviour.
