About the role


As the Head of Digital Marketing, you'll be responsible for leading our digital media and marketing capability to activate integrated digital marketing strategies, and campaigns, driving growth and retention for our portfolio of brands.


This role will lead, mentor and develop a team of digital media, paid search, adtech and optimisation experts who deliver our performance media programs and digital media campaigns and who help shape and deliver the blueprint for our digital and data led marketing transformation.


You'll also:

  • Design, lead and deliver the digital marketing transformation roadmap and project plan, including delivery of defined projects and the vision for activating omnichannel customer journeys within paid channels.
  • Lead the development of our group digital marketing strategy for our portfolio of brands, including growth and retention strategies to meet the needs of customers and the business, bringing the digital ecosystem together into a single view approach.
  • Uplift the digital media capability, through management of the Digital Media Manager and provide thought leadership to our portfolio of brands.
  • Oversee the effective planning, buying and activation of all digital media plans working closely with brands to deliver their customer trade plans.
  • Deliver our paid search portfolio approach to maximise opportunities for our brands. Working closely with our SEO team to identify and implement opportunities for efficiency across organic and paid search activity.
  • Monitor the market to identify customer, publisher, media, martech/adtech industry and competitor trends; staying up to date with the Australian media landscape.
  • Be responsible for the day to day operational management of key digital marketing and Ad Tech partners, establishing the right agency partnerships & commercial agreements.
  • Create a culture of experimentation in the team, using data and insights to inform optimisation approaches. Leverage media mix modelling and attribution tools to identify opportunities to improve ROI across brands and the portfolio.
  • Be an active leader in our marketing community, with a focus on digital marketing excellence. Leading and inspiring the broader Marketing team by role modelling our values and ways of working.

About you:


To be successful in this role, you'll have demonstrated experience in a Senior media or marketing role, with digital media/marketing strategy, planning and buying skills.


Leadership experience of an in-house, or media agency team will be advantageous, with the ability to oversee and empower a high performing team.

You'll also be able to demonstrate considerable experience in the following key areas:

  • Outstanding communication skills, and a drive to collaborate & influence effectively across all levels of a complex matrix environment.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic plans over a 13 year horizon.
  • Demonstrated experience in martech and adtech.
  • Project management and agile experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent presentation and data storytelling skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build positive and productive relationships.
  • Knowledge and experience in retail, drinks or hospitality is desirable.
  • Strong management skills that develop, empower and inspire a team to deliver best in class thinking and results.
