About the role

Eastern Health is an accredited health service for intern and junior doctor training in Victoria.

The Postgraduate Medical Education Unit (PMEU) is responsible for the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of orientation and education programs for Eastern Health's prevocational junior medical staff.

This includes ensuring the continuation of PMCV accreditation of Eastern Health's Prevocational Education and Training Program.

The Medical Education Officer role ensures accreditation requirements are met and supports prevocational doctor progression towards successful achievement of internship and PGY2 completion requirements.

About you


To be successful in this role you will possess:
An appropriate undergraduate or postgraduate qualification and/or relevant experience in education and training which demonstrate understanding in the principles of adult education

Strong communication skills, verbal and written, including a demonstrated customer-service and problem-solving approach to dealing with colleagues, other teams/departments and clients

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team working towards a common objective

Experience in report writing with highly developed analytical and evaluative skills

Demonstrated organizational ability including ability to prioritise and work to deadlines

Relevant experience in project management, delivery and evaluation

Demonstrated understanding of facilitating the provision of pastoral and welfare care

Well-developed skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and online Survey tools

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.
