About the Role


Monash Health has an exciting opportunity for a committed, organised and motivated individual to work within Monash Health Bureau (MHB) Workforce & Professional Practice Team.

This is a key leadership role within the Workforce & Professional Practice team and directly impacts the ability to deliver services across the whole of Monash Health.


The current focus of this role is coordination and management of the Graduate and RUSON/M Programs in Nursing and Midwifery.

However, there is the opportunity to work across various portfolios within the Monash Health Bureau Workforce and Professional Practice Team.

You will assist the director and deputy director in developing and implementing innovative workforce strategies across the organisation as required operationally and lead a team of Program Managers, Associate Managers and Administration staff.


A key function of this role is to lead recruitment initiatives and processes across the organisation within the Monash Health Bureau Workforce arm.

The role will assist the Director and Deputy Director to implement workforce strategies including the provision of workforce analytics and reporting to assist operational decision making.

This role requires highly skilled communicator who will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.


The position will:


  • Assist the DON & DDON with the implementation of actions arising from Monash Health Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Plan to develop a sustainable, skilled and safe workforce for the future
  • Provide leadership and support to ensure successful and ongoing attainment of National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards Accreditation
  • Lead and drive a number of projects and initiatives as delegated, related to workforce and professional practice.
  • Respond to changes and trends in workforce planning and support senior management in identifying business challenges and use data analysis to inform advice and influence process changes.
  • Model strategic and operational leadership across the organisation within Monash Health governance frameworks
  • Coordinate the Graduate & RUSON/M programs across the organisation.

About You


To be successful in this role you will have current registration as a registered Nurse/Midwife with NMBA, appropriate tertiary qualifications (Masters level) and possess an enthusiastic commitment to develop and implement innovative workforce strategies that support the Monash Health workforce and strategic direction.


You must be a skilled communicator with excellent change management skills and the ability manage a team, diverse projects and competing priorities to ensure exceptional patient care is maintained across the organistaion.


You possess a broad understanding of healthcare, including current workforce trends and directions and you have the ability to lead the implementation of workforce strategies to ensure Monash Health has the right workforce, in the right place, at the right time, to ensure the provision of high-quality patient outcomes.
