Relationship Manager - Corporate Banking


Our client is China's first joint-stock commercial bank and also the first bank to attend the national experiment for the promotion of China's banking industry reform driven by endeavours from outside the government.


They are the Sydney-based branch of one of the largest banks in the world (Top 10 largest bank in terms of market capitalisation).

They bank their strategic clients with a wide range of products and services through corporate banking, investment banking and transactional banking practices to meet the financial needs of customers.


You will have the opportunities to work on all-round credit and non-credit banking businesses, including credit analysis, modelling, structuring, commercial negotiation and presentation.

Moreover, you will acquire valuable hands-on experiences through exposure to renowned companies and transactions across many industries and sectors.


Key Responsibilities:


  • In conjunction with senior bankers, conduct marketing activities for the Branch and solicit lending and investment business;
  • Draft credit/investment memos; partner with Risk Management for analysis and approval;
  • Familiar with the typical corporate transactions and capital market transactions such as M&A, privatization, etc;
  • Function as the 'first line of defence' in credit underwriting and monitoring;
  • Monitor and administer closed transactions;
  • Maintain relationships with corporate customers, including relationships with other branches of the bank;
  • Providing customized solution to the corporate clients and has the ability to develop potential business opportunity;
  • Participate in planning and presentation sessions; assist in drafting and presentation of group business plans and initiatives;
  • Solicit deposit business;
  • Interact and negotiate with clients and banking partners;
  • Attend annual compliance training; assume responsibility, as appropriate, to report suspicious activity to Compliance Officer.

Skills & Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution; MBA or CFA/FRM preferred;
  • Minimum of three years of client relationship management and marketing experience at a relevant banking/investment institution; credit experience in corporate banking required. Less working experience may be considered for junior roles;
  • Strong collaboration and personal leadership skills with the ability to influence others;
  • Strong organizational, analytical and oral and written communication skills;
  • Proficient in MS Office (Work, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Open to learning new skills and new products;
  • Able to prioritize and multitask; demonstrate flexibility and acceptability;
  • Credit trained;
  • Experience in typical corporate business transaction, structured finance or project finance transactions;
  • Strong analysis and research experience;
  • Excellent modelling skills and English writing capabilities;
  • Strong communication skills ability to confidently and articulately present and defend your ideas in front of a credit committee;
  • Ethical, diligent, and friendly;
  • Proven experience in working in a team environment and seen as a strong team player;
  • Willingness to take initiative;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • Strong integrity.

$120, $150,000.00 per year
