About the role

Reporting to the Eastern Health Foundation Director, the Head of Donor Engagement is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of mass donor communication including acquisition, appeals, mass communication and data development for Eastern Health.

This position develops, manages, and implements annual fundraising programs to acquire, retain and upgrade new donors, and retain and upgrade existing donors.

Key fundraising programs the position is responsible for include Individual Giving, Regular Giving, Foundation website, In-memorials and Grateful Patient programs.

Also responsible for strategic leadership of donor data CRM (salesforce) and processing and stewarding activities.

The Head of Donor Engagement will work closely with the Director, Foundation team members and consultants to support an integrated work effort in order to achieve defined financial, communication and impact goals.

The role will oversee a team of staff responsible for communications, database
management and analysis, data entry / banking and administration.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:
Education, training and/or relevant experience, with at least five years management experience in business development or fundraising.

Demonstration of strategic fundraising experience, with experience and proven success in Direct
Marketing fundraising (especially in Appeals and Regular Giving)

An ability to demonstrate leadership in the continuous improvement of donor engagement,
stewardship and development

Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Experience in managing staff

Strong budgeting and financial modelling skills

Sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophy of charitable giving

Sound knowledge of databases (preferably fundraising databases and salesforce)

Excellent communication, collaboration and negotiation skills

Demonstrated ability for continuous improvement in complex environments

Emotional intelligence, inclusive and helpful attitude with a commitment to ongoing learning

Sound knowledge in the use of standard office software packages

Capacity to work independently or in teams to meet demanding time lines and expectations
