The company
This internationally owned seed company is a leader in summer and winter seed varieties, with operations across Australia.

They now seek a Field Operator for their Parent Seed program, playing a key role in the Field Services Group.

The purpose of the role is to ensure all Basic Seed and Experimental Hybrid Seed increases are grown to their full potential by carrying out all field machinery and equipment operations, including planting, spraying, cultivating and harvesting.

The role

Key accountabilities include the following:

Maintaining the highest possible Parent Seed Quality and purity; the principal function of the Parent Seed Group.
Day to day field operations, including planting, spraying, cultivation, trickle tape laying and harvesting, taking ownership of field work activities and infield equipment setup and operation
Agronomist farming practices on leased and owned farming land
Consulting with Field Operations management and Parent Seed Stakeholders on field operations, timeliness and set up of plant and equipment used to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and transport Parent Seed.
Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and reasonable instructions, following Safe Work Procedures and machinery/equipment manuals
Follow and contribute to Quality Management System processes and documented information, striving to achieve company objectives and targets relevant to your role.

The Person
We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following:

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in farming practices and agronomy
Familiarity with row crop corn, sorghum, canola or sunflower seed production
Rapport with farmers, with good communication and time management skills
Strong organisational abilities in organising travel and the ability to travel, organise growers, agronomists and casual employee teams infield
