About the Department of Education
The Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population.
The Health, Safety and Staff Wellbeing Directorate shapes and leads work health and safety across the department by delivering services and support to our workplaces, creating safe working and learning environments.
This role sits within the Strategy, Governance and Staff Wellbeing unit, responsible for developing health, safety and wellbeing policy, programs and resources and sets the vision for a health and safety culture across the organisation.
About the role
In this role you will support the design, delivery and implementation of key strategies and initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of all staff across the department.
This role works within the People and Culture team, responsible for the development and implementation of a state-wide staff wellbeing strategy, and the delivery of innovative programs and services to support the wellbeing of all staff, enabling our students to receive a quality education.
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

As a Policy and Programs Officer, you will provide project and operational support to the team, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans.

As a Policy and Programs Officer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of a range of communications, resources and training.
Provide an example of when you have developed, implemented and evaluated these types of communications and resources and how did they contribute to achieving the identified project outcomes? Describe your skills and experience in doing this and how you ensured project timeframes were met.
