Who you will be working for:

Our client is a household name based in Brisbane, and operates in the insurance space, working to improve the lives of people across Queensland.

They are currently going through a large digital transformation, and as a result, are in growth mode.

The role:

Our client has two roles available; one for a

Principal DevOps Engineer and one for a

Principal SRE. Both are technical leadership roles, helping streamline the software development and cloud lifecycle to improve productivity, delivery speed and code quality of our clients' engineering teams. This role will work closely with architecture, development, platform engineers and security teams.

In these roles, you will have an opportunity to work on a cloud migration project to build our clients' new internal SaaS platform, which is currently built across AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and Microservices.

What you will be doing:

Devops*
Working in a squad of DevOps & Platform engineer's and very closely alongside a team of developers
Building out Kubernetes clusters
Building CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab CI
You will be building out their infrastructure environment utilising Terraform

- SRE

Working in a squad of DevOps & Platform engineer's and very closely alongside a team of developers
Track performance against SLOs in partnership with monitoring teams or other stakeholders, and ensure systems continue to meet SLOs over time
Work with stakeholders such as product owners to define service level objectives (SLOs) for system operations

For the Lead Devops role your background would include:

Strong knowledge of DevOps technologies and tools e.g. orchestration, cloud technology, source control, containerisation, deployment automation, CI/CD
Strong IaC knowledge and experience (Ansible, CDK, Kubernetes, AWS API, Lambda)
Experience developing CI/CD workflows and tools
Proficiency in one or more coding/scripting languages
Worked on containerisation tech
EKS, AKS or Docker

For the Lead SRE role your background would include:

3+ years of experience in cloud engineering delivering solutions with strong knowledge of AWS
Experience with working in cloud ecosystems (e.g. AWS, VMware Tanzu, Red Hat Openshift)
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. DataDog, Splunk, Cloudwatch, NewRelic, ELK)
Experience with container orchestration technologies and supporting tools (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
Experience with scripting languages
