About the role:


We have an exciting permanent opportunity from
1st March 2023, for an experienced Team Leader, based between our Woodman Point Water Resource Recovery Facility.

Woodman Point is WA's largest wastewater treatment plant and has recently undergone a significant upgrade on the liquid stream.

We are about to embark on a further upgrade to the solids stream which will make Woodman Point one of the most modern and efficient wastewater processing plants in the country.

You will be responsible to lead the operations team with particular emphasis on plant performance and effective, efficient resource management.


What the role will involve:


  • Lead, coach and develop an operations team, ensuring the teams objectives are set and reviewed on a regular basis to assess and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement work schedules and rosters, coordinate training, development and mentoring of the team.
  • Lead the daytoday operations of the Plant(s) including the management of Dangerous Goods, budget, maintenance activities and incident management.
  • Participate in the Plant's 'After Hours' Response Roster as required.
  • Assist in the definition, design, construction, and commissioning of major and minor capital works.
  • Produce technical reports on the performance and operation of the Plant(s).
  • Respond to onsite incidents, including 'after hours',

Key skills and experience:


  • Certificate IV in Front Line Management or equivalent (Desirable).
  • Current 'C' Class Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and developing operational teams
  • Demonstrated experience in resources management and an understanding in work planning and scheduling
  • Strong capability in the use of various communication techniques
  • Previous experience in a process environment and an ability to quickly understand process technologies.
  • Previous experience in Wastewater process technologies is highly regarded.
