About the role

In this role, you will contribute to Geelong City's business objectives through management of the team's design and delivery of the City's Learning and Organisational Development roadmap.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and drive the implementation of the City's Learning and Organisational Development roadmap as a subset of the City's People & Culture Strategy.
  • Taking a UX usercentred design approach to the groundup creation and implementation of a best practice suite of employee lifecycle systems; including, onboarding and employee experience, succession & talent pipeline planning, performance, enterprise wide leadership and culture development including Inclusion and Diversity.
  • Partner with other Centres of Excellence including, Workplace Relations, Transformation office and Change Management, Employee Communications, Health Safety & Wellbeing, People Shared Services Centre and Organisation Design to ensure alignment of purpose and integrated organisational outcomes.
  • Contract with People Partners to consult to the business on and execute the Centre of Excellence plan.
  • Centrally manage the City's organisational capability development priorities and budget to ensure impact and alignment to the City's organisational vision and strategy.
  • Curate and strategically partner to deliver capability building initiatives for enterprise wide initiatives for leadership, culture, training and compliance.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in a similar role in the areas of Learning and Organisational Development including leadership development, inclusion and diversity, employee experience and training and compliance.


Essential Experience:

  • Degree qualification in Commerce/Business, Organisation Development, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology or a similar field.
  • Creativity, usercentered design, critical thinking and leadership will be fundamental to having the expected impact in this businesscritical role.
  • Extensive knowledge and proven experience in designing Learning and Organisational Development products in a complex and often challenging environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching an executive team and collaborating with others in the pursuit of P&C goals.
  • Proven ability to effectively negotiate with and influence stakeholders to achieve support and strategic outcomes.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data and general insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work priorities and deliver to project outcomes.
