Position Information
Windsor High School is a comprehensive high school (610 students) located in the Hawkesbury valley. Students are drawn from Wisemans Ferry in the north to Bligh Park in the south.

Enrollment is comprised of approximately 18% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 8% students with a language background other than English.

The school has a support unit for students with intellectual disabilities.

Over the past six years the school has focussed on establishing highly effective systems and structures in curriculum, student welfare, school organisation and teacher professional learning.

The school has a positive learning environment and a culture that focuses on student and teacher learning with the aim of improving outcomes for students leaving school.

The school is well supported by an engaged and active P&C.

There is a strong partnership with the local AECG and ties to the local Aboriginal community are continuing to develop.


Specific Selection Criteria

  • Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teachers to implement best practice pedagogies, assessment practices that promote engagement and improve student learning outcomes in the Science classroom.
  • Highly developed leadership skills with a focus on strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage the performance of individuals and teams, including a focus on maintaining high expectations.
  • Ability to lead teachers in developing and implementing high quality programs that are engaging and differentiated to meet the needs of all learners including gifted and talented, low socio economic and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Demonstrated capacity to be a dynamic member of the executive leadership team and lead initiatives that address whole school strategic directions and nurture positive, quality relationships across the school and its wider community.

General Selection Criteria

  • 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
