Description

We :

For the past 25 years, our eclectic team of geographers, demographers, economists, population forecasters, social researchers and software engineers have been using data to tell stories about Australian places and communities.

We have a demonstrated track-record of innovation and, as the external environment changes and our clients require new data sources, products and services to continue to act in the best interests of their community, we are there to meet that need.

What we're doing:

The local government sector's need for credibly sourced, genuinely representative and eternally comparable survey data and community insight has never been greater.

Residents, other levels of government and the private sector are placing higher-expectations on councils to ensure that their community's views are more comprehensively incorporated, monitored and ultimately evaluated in local government strategic planning and advocacy.

Our new offer, Living in Place, has been designed to help meet this increased demand.

Launched in 2021, Living in Place is an independent, robust and repeatable community survey. It provides participating councils with a deep and representative understanding of their community's values, experiences and needs. It also understands community health and wellbeing, financial circumstances, concerns and ideas for improving quality of life.

Analysed and reported through our leading online platform, , Living in Place allows our clients to investigate the role that residents' demography, life-stage and location play in informing their views and adds context by comparing council findings with other similar LGAs, regional, state and national averages.

In summary, Living in Place creates a resident-centric evidence base to inform, monitor and evaluate strategic planning and advocacy, which helps Australian councils and others to make better and more informed decisions.

While our longer-term goal is that Living in Place will become the industry standard resource through which Australian councils and others represent their community's best interests in decision-making and advocacy, we're still at the early stages of that journey.

We need someone to join the team:

As a new and disruptive offer, we're on a mission to introduce Living in Place to our clients, to help them understand the value it delivers, and to implement and embed it across the local government sector.

We need someone who is energetic, enterprising and experienced to join the team.

The role is to work closely with the Community Views team strategist to:

  • Create and distribute helpful content (blogs, articles, case studies, videos) to build awareness of and interest in Living in Place and the Views reporting and exploratory platform. You will work with prospective clients to help them understand how the offer helps them achieve their policy goals and contribute to sales through the creation of winning proposals.
  • Help our clients succeed. While the processes associated with project delivery are highly automated, we're invested in customer success and, as such, you will work closely with clients to help them use the insights derived from Living in Place to inform their planning and advocacy work.
  • Get involved in product design. While the immediate focus will be on introducing, implementing and embedding Living in Place across our client network, we're always learning how we can improve and expand our range of services. So please expect to be involved in product design as well.
