Position Information:

Appin Public School is a mid-size regional school located south of Campbelltown along the road to Wollongong.

It has 25 teaching staff and 340 students with 7% of students having Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and 9% having a language background other than English.

Our school is a focal point of the community and caters for students in Kindergarten to Year Six.


Appin Public School staff are committed to ensuring each student improves in literacy and numeracy through developing teacher skill and deep engagement with the syllabus and the quality implementation of explicit teaching using assessment data to differentiate the curriculum.


Selection Criteria:


Approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated ability to lead evidence informed teaching and learning, reflective practices and high expectations.


Ability to work cohesively as part of an engaged and proactive leadership team, with the demonstrated ability to analyse and utilise a range of data to design, implement and evaluate teaching and learning.


Outstanding communication and collaboration skills with students, staff and community and demonstrated capacity to build positive and productive teams while fostering wellbeing.


Proven expertise in building the capacity of staff to implement innovative and equitable future focused practices, including the integration of digital technologies that maximise student learning and engagement.


General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
