Support the Allied Health team to provide world class patient care in trauma services:


  • Gain invaluable experience in the hospital setting
  • The RMH Trauma Service is one of the busiest trauma centres in Australia as one of two adult major trauma services in Victoria. Allied Health provides a 7 day service to this patient group.

The Allied Health department consists of 11 professions:

Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Nutrition, Podiatry, Prosthetics & Orthotics, Pastoral Care, Psychology, Interpreters and Music Therapy.

The department also includes essential services such as the LGBTIQA+ team, Family Safety team and Disability Liaison services.

The Allied Health department is committed to ensuring effective and efficient delivery of clinical services to all Clinical Units across the hospital.


Your new role:


  • Provide quality care to patients in collaboration with and under the direction and supervision of the relevant Allied Health professional, or other health professional as requested.
  • Under the direction and / or supervision of the health professional, assist patients in accessing services, completing personal care tasks or completing prescribed treatment.
  • Under the direction and / or supervision of the health professional, provide support to patients and/or carers of patients in the trauma service.

About you:


  • You are a qualified Allied Health Assistant (Grade 3 applicants must have a minimum of 3 years AHA experience).
  • You have effective communication skills and a passion for patient centred care.
  • You enjoy working in a team environment.
  • You are adaptable and thrive in a fast paced environment.
