About the role:


As the successful applicant you will be actively involved in producing high quality recommendations in respect of the analysis of intelligence and statistical data, identification and evaluation of emerging patterns and trends in crime, organised criminal activity, public order, road policing areas and family violence.

Your duties will include:


  • Producing high quality recommendations in respect of the analysis of intelligence and statistical data.
  • Identifying, assessing, and reporting on specific targets or target areas, emerging patterns, and trends in crime, organized criminal activity, public order, road policing and family violence.
  • Collating, evaluating, and disseminating information in respect to intelligence data.
  • Preparing and delivering intelligence and information relating to significant policing priorities or targeted and recidivist criminals.
  • Accessing and utilising a variety of computer systems to collect and manage information relating to this role.
  • Liaising professionally and responsively with potential sources of information from inside and outside Victoria Police.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in research and analysis with a preference to intelligence analysis, criminology, criminal justice, or other relevant academic disciplines.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Welldeveloped conceptual skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns and provide advice to management.
  • Proven ability to manage your own workload to meet required timeframes.
  • Commitment and achievement in meeting a high level of customer service to all clients.

Requirements and relevant information:


  • Two (2) ongoing fulltime positions available.
  • Position is located at Divisional Intelligence Unit located at 311 Spencer Street Docklands. While this position will have a nominated usual place of work, the position may be required to work at other locations, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve, and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
