The Role

The CFM will lead the national Third-Party Community Fundraising strategy, which includes Canteen's DIY fundraising platform - Raise It, Challenge Events, general Third-Party Community Fundraisers, and our Community Champions program.


Area 1:
Strategic Development


  • Develop strategic and operational plans for Third-Party fundraising campaigns, ensuring sustainable growth year on year.
  • Ensure effective communication of the strategy and operations across the organisation.
  • Play a key role in driving forward new campaign initiatives, continuous innovation, and campaign improvements, bringing innovative ideas and a fresh outlook to the table. What does better look like?

Area 2:
Staff Management and Engagement


  • Manage, support, and develop direct reports by ensuring the vision is set, objectives are clear, operational plans are realised, and income and other set targets are achieved.
  • Provide strong leadership and people management to ensure a high performing team.

Area 3:
Relationship Management


  • Responsible for leading State Teams in the activation of the Third-Party Community Fundraising strategic direction, ensuring communication, engagement and where relevant, specifically contributing towards community fundraising events overall success.
  • Responsibility for ensuring Canteen has excellent relationships with appropriate external stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes for Canteen.

Area 4:
Project Management


  • Responsible for the overall project management and execution of the Third-Party Community Fundraising portfolio and execution of the Challenge Events strategy and activities.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of Canteen's DIY fundraising platform
  • Raise It, including but not limited to, Raise It branding, overall design look and feel, website structure, workflows, and data processes.
  • Develop, deliver, refine, and constantly improve Canteen's best practice Third-Party Community Fundraising model, frameworks, and workflows for delivery nationally and within each state and territory when necessary.

Area 5:
Operational


  • Responsible for working closely with internal teams in the development and implementation of Challenge Event marketing plans and supporter journeys, including recruitment plans, continuously looking for ways to improve supporter engagement, not only within the campaign, but within Canteen.

Area 6 & 7:
Budget Management, Financial Accountability, Analysis & Reporting


  • Responsible for setting and forecasting income and expenditure budgets for all Third-Party Fundraising activities.
  • The CFM will be responsible for regular campaign/portfolio tracking, analysis, and reporting, to ensure targets are achieved and opportunities for growth and mitigation are maximised.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Fundraising role
  • Demonstrated experience across thirdparty fundraising events, such as fun runs and other challenge events.
  • Proven experience in operational delivery of fundraising campaigns or events including campaign and project management, marketing plans, partnership negotiation, and reporting.
  • Experience working with and stewarding Third-Party Community Fundraisers, highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in supporter journey mapping strategy and implementation

Newtown, Sydney - Flexible working arrangements

$95,000 - $110,000 + Salary Packaging + Superannuation

5 days a week / 37.5 hours per week
