Our Resilient Communities team are looking for an Environment and Approvals Advisor to come on board to provide environmental assessment and risk management, stakeholder engagement and regulatory approval support and advice for capital projects.


As the Environment and Approvals Advisor, you'll build lasting relationships with our contractors, planners, and project managers to identify, mitigate and monitor environmental risks, ensure compliance with various legislative obligations and ensure approvals and permits are identified and obtained within project timelines and budgets.


Who are you?:

You're a passionate environmental professional with a bachelor's degree in environmental science/engineering, ecology, statutory planning, or similar, that can demonstrate experience and skill across the following areas in scientific or technical environments, ideally within the water industry:

  • Sound understanding of environmental legislation and approvals requirements applicable to construction projects, with the ability to communicate these requirements across all business levels.
  • Experience in construction environmental management including auditing and monitoring to ensure that projects are safeguarded from legislative breaches.
  • Experience working with local and state regulatory authorities.
  • Project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Promotion of "cradle to grave" environmental management approach to ensure that risks are identified early, efficiencies are gained, and management plans are properly implemented.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills with the ability to write reports, present/facilitate and prepare a range of communications for key stakeholders).
  • Specialist knowledge and experience ideally in ecology, statutory planning, contaminated land, or other related discipline related to construction environmental management highly regarded.
  • Experience with GIS desirable.
