About the role


We currently have a unique opportunity on offer for a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker at our Carlow House facility.

The role is a full time permanent opportunity, with Day shift coverage from 7:00am to 7:30pm and night shift from 7:00pm to 7:30am on weekdays, with one weekend required per fortnight.


Our Carlow House program supports young people who are currently homeless and utilises strength and evidence-based approaches to assist them to reach their goals.

You will implement support plans, foster connections with family and carers of young people, plan and participate in activities, and assist in their overall social and emotional development.


About you
You will be dedicated to improving the lives of others through your passion for supporting young people.

With your prior relevant experience, empathetic nature and excellent relationship building skills, you will provide a high level of assistance to residents whilst demonstrating the values of Mercy Care in all activities you undertake.

The following experience and qualifications will see you to success in this role:

  • Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work or relevant Human Services qualification is required
  • Have the ability to work weekday shifts
  • Experience supporting young people with complex needs in a residential setting
  • Prior experience working with young people wo have experienced homelessness
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Provide First Aid
  • COVID and Influenza vaccinations are preferred
  • National Police Clearance (within the last six months)
