About the Role


The Digital Manager will lead the Climate Council's digital first strategy, nurturing and growing our half-a-million strong audience on social media.


This is a highly collaborative role that sits within the Communications Team, but works across all areas of the organisation.

Creating fit-for-purpose content across a range of channels, understanding and growing our audiences and creating cutting-edge digital tools and experiences, the Digital Manager will play a critical role in allowing Australians to imagine how climate impacts and solutions relate to their everyday life.

The Digital Manager has oversight of the Climate Council's digital assets, social media, video content and website.

This role is primarily focussed on organic content and does not have responsibility for direct marketing and fundraising, however works in close collaboration with the Community and Fundraising team.


Reporting
The Digital Manager reports to the Communications Director and works as part of the wider Communications Team.

The Digital Manager has three direct reports:
a Senior Digital Advisor, a Content Producer and a Content and Website Officer. The Senior Digital Advisor manages a Video Content Producer.


Key Responsibilities

  • The key responsibilities of the Digital Manager include:
  • Oversee content production and creation in-line with the Climate Council strategy, and at times
  • when required
  • support the team with content creation.
  • Develop and manage processes and tools to improve the impact and efficiency of the digital team (e.g. content calendars), and support and promote efficient communication with other teams.
  • Lead and manage the Climate Council's Digital Transformation project, including development of the Climate Council's digital strategy and internal consultation and external engagement as required.
  • Identify and project manage strategic digital projects that will elevate the profile and/or impact of the Climate Council.
  • Oversee the development of digital tools, such as microsites, interactive web tools and other creative digital projects that showcase our research and campaigns.
  • Undertake sophisticated analysis of the Climate Council's social media audiences, and provide strategic advice on strategies to maximise engagement, drive conversions, in alignment with the Digital Marketing Funnel.
  • Overseeing the Climate Council's web projects, including the website and development of microsites etc.
  • Grow the Climate Council's online audiences on strategic social media platforms.
  • Lead and upskill the team in the strategic use of paid social media boosting of organic content.
  • Build and maintain a network with others working in digital with the objectives of interrogating and continuously improving our activities and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
  • Contribute positively to the Climate Council culture and act in accordance with Climate Council values.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 7 years' experience and knowledge working at a senior level in the design and delivery of digital projects.
  • End to end digital project management skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Ads.
  • Good working knowledge of SEO.
  • Expert in the use of and working knowledge of trends for: Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram, and using data and insights to strategically use these platforms to their full potential.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills.
  • Uptodate knowledge of technological developments, relevant trends and pop culture/strong working knowledge of digital platforms and softwares.
  • The ability to take initiative and work autonomously.
  • The ability to work well in a dynamic environment where circumstances and priorities can rapidly shift.
  • Demonstrated experience and strength in team leadership: including managing a team working in a fast paced environment (minimum 2 years' experience), balancing competing priorities and individual team member workloads.

- $110k Annual salary, plus super
