How will I help?
The role is responsible for providing second line compliance support to the Cash & Transactional Banking Line of Business, Consumer and Business Banking Division in Westpac.
- Lead the implementation of an effective compliance framework and operating model within Cash & Transactional Banking Compliance team with a focus on Value Chains, Compliance Framework, Major Projects, Compliance Reporting and oversight of incident and issue management.
- Engage with senior business leaders as an effective strategic business partner to provide advice, insight and support to business priorities
- Engage and liaise with Cash & Transactional Banking LOB leaders and staff to engender a culture of proactive Risk and Compliance that creates a risk/reward position with Group Risk Appetite
- Work closely with Enterprise Compliance to ensure Delivery of overall Compliance Strategy.
- Drives an efficient quality outcome for customers
- Creates a high performance culture
- Provides proactive, reliable and relevant compliance advice, training and monitoring solutions to address business needs
- Effectively communicates and engages with management and staff
- Shares learnings and best practice across Compliance to ensure optimum outcomes and enhance Self Development and foster a culture of constructive collaboration and continuous improvement.

What do I need?
- Minimum 10+ years' experience in financial services, banking or payments
- Prior E xecutive Manager experience in Compliance, Risk / Assurance or Legal function
- Knowledge and experience of financial services laws and industry standards and practices, including Corporations Act, Banking Code of Practice, ePayments Code, ASIC Act, privacy and other relevant regulatory requirements
- Strong and current understanding of banking products, the industry and regulatory focus points
- Demonstrated experience in managing key stakeholder relationships at a senior level both internally and externally
- Ability to adapt to rapid digitisation and technology change in financial services and or Australian consumer financial product and services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of compliance developments to identify emerging risks that may affect the business today or in the future
- Degree qualified, minimum of a Bachelor Degree
