What you'll be doing


The Clinical Risk Manager (CRM)is responsible for implementing and co-ordinating clinical risk and patient safety systems across Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and Community Health Services.

The incumbent will also be responsible for implementing, integrating and coordinating the hospital wide incident management program and related patient safety processes and activities to enhance the quality and safety of care provided.

The position will be closely aligned with Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service (HKHS) executive and other relevant staff to assist with technical, educational and administrative responsibilities in the development and maintenance of the patient safety program.

  • Experience in facilitating root cause analysis investigations, human factors and culture change methods.
  • Possess an undergraduate degree in Health with recent clinical experience in an acute health care setting, or equivalent work experience in a complex health care setting relevant to Clinical Governance.
  • Demonstrated effective written communication skills, including preparation of high quality reports to governing bodies, senior managers/clinicians and the development and delivery of presentations.
  • Knowledge of the current principles of quality improvement and clinical governance in the context of health care with demonstrated experience in quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated highly developed and effective time and people management skills including proven capacity to manage multidisciplinary groups.
