The Role:


As an Associate you will be part of a team that focuses on the AML regulatory due diligence requirements of Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) clients and is responsible for new customer onboarding and periodic KYC reviews of C&IB Customers to ensure NAB meets its AML/CTF policies and obligations.

This role will ensure any risks or breaches are identified and escalated quickly and keep abreast of any process and procedure changes.


Responsibilities include:


  • Obtain and verify AML/regulatory compliance documents from bankers and clients
  • Obtain and verify AML/regulatory compliance documents from bankers/clients
  • Accurate customer screening and assessment to identify Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Tax Evasion and other risk.
  • Upload KYC information into system and assess C&IB client risk profiles accurately (Right First Time)
  • Meet onboarding, ongoing customer due diligence and other adhoc AML/KYC and regulatory compliance remediation project deadlines
  • Proactively liaise and engage with relationship teams and clients to obtain AML/KYC documents
  • Assist relationship teams with their AML/KYC and regulatory compliance questions

Your skills and experience:


  • Sound knowledge of the Bank's systems, procedures, products and services
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the value stream
  • Continually demonstrates the importance of customer experience.
  • Ability to work in an environment of continual change.
  • Responsible for behaving in accordance with NAB's Code of Conduct and demonstrating the Enterprise Behaviours
  • Strong customer & compliance focus with attention to detail both verbally & written
  • Willingness to work in a fastpaced environment and ability to successfully multitask
  • Strong analytical skills and highly adaptable to change. Able to prioritise the workload.
  • Good understanding of ownership structure of different entity types (e.g. Companies, Trust, Partnerships, etc).
  • Previous experience and knowledge in a customer service operations environment is preferred.
  • Experience in customer Screening and assessment methods to identify Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Fraud, Tax Evasion, and other negative findings is preferable.
