Position Summary


The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is a world class specialist hospital in eye and ear care that provides services across Victoria.

As Australia's only specialist eye, ear, nose and throat hospital, the Eye and Ear has been providing care for the senses for 150 years.

The Eye and Ear has almost 60 different outpatient clinics for the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of vision and hearing loss and provides a 24-hour emergency eye and ear, nose, and throat service.

Every year the Eye and Ear cares for over 220,000 patients, with over 160,000 outpatients nearly 44,000 emergency patients and over 17,000 inpatients.

The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment to create a modern internal structure, improve access for patients and visitors and staff.

About the Role

This is a full-time position but we will consider a part time work arrangement.

This is a true generalist role that is accountable for the employment lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding.

As part of a small team you will work collaboratively to provide employment, recruitment and onboarding advice to a diverse range of internal clients as well as supporting attraction and retention projects that span the whole organisation.

Responsibilities will also include providing support to line managers on performance issues, attendance management as well as responding to and managing the staff complaints and grievance processes, escalating as required.


This position provides the successful incumbent with the opportunity to build their business partnering skills, by working on a wide range of tasks, both at a high level and an administrative level.

Demonstrated experience in a generalist P&C role, preferably gained in a small team environment where you had a broad range of duties

Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to form productive working relationships with internal clients.

Ability to provide technical advice confidently and build credibility easily.

Previous experience or familiarity with SAP Success Factors or a similar HRIS would be advantageous.
