Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers.

We offer market-leading products and services, supported by some of the world's best systems and processes.

The Deposit Product team is responsible for the manufacturing and profitable growth of Retail Savings and Term Deposit Products.

Our responsibilities include the product strategy, product design, pricing, customer experience, risk and day to day management of the Deposit suite of products.


Key responsibilities of the Everyday Banking (EDB) Pricing Portfolio Optimisation squad include; EDB P&L outcomes, end-to-end accountability for setting headline and discretionary interest rates, ongoing development of our world leading pricing capability, customer acquisition and retention for Term Deposits and Savings Accounts, and the design and implementation of customer centric initiatives to support customers meet their savings goals.

As a manager and future leader within the team you play a critical, leading role in defining and executing the pricing & offer strategy across the Deposits product set with the end goal of achieving world-class capability.


You will also lead the development and refinement of tools and experiments that support the execution of pricing strategies and customer offers.

With a focus on discretionary pricing you will utilise your analytics capabilities and commercial acumen to drive data-driven decisions, and your strong relationship management skills to build effective relationships with key business partners.


Through achieving world-best pricing & offer capability the Bank is able to service customers in a more tailored manner while achieving strategic business outcomes.


More specifically, you will:


  • Partner with the Product Management team to ensure the ongoing optimisation of pricing across all price types (e.g. headline, discretionary, etc.) and customer segments aligns with product strategy.
  • Provide regular analysis, commentary and insights that support proactive recommendations regarding pricing changes.
  • Own and drive experimental design across pricing and customer segments, inclusive of active tests and pipeline of future opportunities across Retail Products.
  • Support the design, development and implementation of advanced pricing architectures (e.g. customer value optimisation, customer pricing elasticity)
  • Work with the Price Analytics team to define modelling requirements and deploy models to optimise pricing.
  • Ensure the business has the necessary capability to execute on the pricing, segment, customer or offer optimisation recommendations.
  • Train and provide best practice guidance to product pricing teams to embed consistent capability.
  • Partner with lines of business to meet ad hoc pricing analytics requirements.
  • Support the standardisation of pricing principles across Retail Products.
